Family Bike Ride

In the cool Spring temperatures, one of our favorite things to do is go for a fun family bike ride! This time, we went down to Denver and rode on the path along this creek. It makes for a beautiful place to rest...

 Enough resting...  Dad says it's time to get moving!

And after the ride, we can go back up the mountain and COOL OFF!

Hard to believe it was the same day, huh? There's usually a 10 degree difference between our home and Denver... and our snow takes a long time to completely go away!

Easter 2013

We got to use our own chicken eggs for dipping this year... and because our hens lay brown and green eggs, the dyes created some "alternative" colors!

But the kids had fun regardless!

Swimming at the Apex Center

The Apex Center is a fun place to swim down near Denver. It is also a great incentive to getting Maddox proficient at swimming! When they are having fun, they forget to be afraid!

Mark and Kay Visit!

It's about time I got my big brother to visit us here in Colorado! Took him awhile, but it was worth the wait.

Among other things, I took them skiing at Loveland and we had a great time!

We relived childhood memories:

...and we made new ones.

We visited a gold mine...

And then tried to find our fortune!

And Uncle Mark even helped Maddox set a Leprechaun trap!

Although no fortune was found and no Leprechaun caught, we know that our TRUE treasure is each other. 

Steamboat Springs

We've never skied at Steamboat yet, so one of our spring ski trips was spent there this year. We rented a condo and had a lovely time together!

Ski School

Maddox attended the "Bombers" program at Breckenridge this season and he became quite proficient at skiing... but as you can see below, he was quite the clown.

Snowball Fight!

This most recent snow is PERFECT for making snowballs!  So, that's what my crew did late this afternoon... and I had the pleasure of documenting it (that was safer than participating!).

The first thing they did was create a giant barrier wall.  The snow rolls up into balls quite easily - until you simply can't push it anymore.
