Arvada Festival

Last year, we found a fun little festival in downtown Arvada, so we were sure to visit it again this year. It's easy to remember when, as it falls right on or before Mason's birthday.

This festival has all the usual stuff... food, vendor booths, entertainment, and a nice train ride for the kids (and older brothers who aren't the least bit thrilled to chaperone).  See the first green car:

For something fun and different this year, we let the boys make wax models of their hands!  Pretty cool operation this guy has running... first, the boys make a hand shape and then dip them several times in warm wax.

Then, after cooling the wax in an ice-water bath (see the background), the man gently peels off the wax hand.

And after a color dip and some decorative spray, voila... cool models of their hands!

I may not have made a wax hand, but I had fun playing with the little kids in the bubbles!
