The Coop

Michael has spent the last several weeks working on a chicken coop for us!  He had some help at times from me and the boys, but it was mostly his project... and he did a fantastic job!  Take a look:


Here are some shots of the process:


The back has two large doors for "mucking" it out.  (Michael says I made that word up, but it's the first word my mom and I thought of for that process.)

Below is the beginning stage of the nest boxes.

Here's a view from the inside, looking into the nest boxes.  ...and don't you think the chickens have a lovely view from their window?!

The boys are helping Michael with the trim.  There was a LOT of trim to do, so we all got involved - only you won't see me because I'm always the one with the camera.

Perfect opportunity to have the boys practice with the power tools.

Cooperation... I love it!

...Voila!  The trim is all done!


And finally, you get to see proof that I did help.  Here I am staining the coop.

 Next step?  CHICKENS!  ...stay tuned!
