Our boys are involved in a fun group called The Guild. It was started by some friends of ours who pastor the local Evergreen Church of Christ, Doug & Lisa Parks. All year, the kids have been preparing for a Prince and Princess Ball, including learning formal dinner etiquette, dances of the time period, and planning the menu. This past Sunday was the big event, and we went to the local costume shop (and our Halloween box) in order to dress appropriately.

Mason chose to be a jester because he was asked to provide some entertainment during the ball... more on that in a moment.
At the commencement of the event, each of the guests were formally introduced. This is our royal jester, Master Mason Force... the eldest of the Force clan, hailed from Bedford, Texas.

And here we have your Royal Highness, King Morgan Edward Force, also of the Force clan, hailed from Plano, Texas.

Then they enjoyed a succulent dinner served to them by their royal subjects (aka: the parents). The menu consisted of shrimp cocktail and pigs in a blanket for appetizers, roast beef with potatoes and steamed veggies for the entree, and then chocolate fondue for dessert.
After dinner, Mason kicked off the entertainment by putting on a dazzling display of juggling talent!

It's hard to believe this kid could hardly catch a ball this time last year! :)

He even got fancy on us and juggled all the way through a "kneel - sit - rotate 360 degree - stand back up" move! TA-DAAAAH!

Part of the entertainment also included performing a couple of dances that the kids had learned the past couple of months. They did a fantastic job and had a lot of fun!

That's Lisa on the far right, and her husband, Doug, next to her.

A good time was had by all - even me! After the formal festivities were finished, the kids all spent another hour enjoying some... uh, more modern music like the Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance, and Y.M.C.A.
On a side note, many of you have received an e-mail from us about how this fine group of kids is currently raising money to send livestock to less fortunate families through World Vision. We greatly appreciate all those who have already sent us contributions! Tax receipts will be forthcoming. If you have not contributed, but would like to, feel free to
contact me for more information.

Cheers!
Michele
