Thanksgiving 2011

We traveled to Texas for Thanksgiving, and had several adventures along with it!  To start with, we spent a couple of nights at the Great Wolf Lodge as a special treat for the boys.  Somehow, I didn't end up with any photos of it aside from this one:

Mom and Dad brought Kaylan and Chandler for a day of swimming with us and we all had a wonderful time!  Even Mom and Dad climbed the stairs to go down the water slides with us!  Chan had to go home to work, but we kept Kay over night with us to experience our next adventure:  Legoland Discovery Center!

Hmmm... this pose of Maddox's is beginning to look familiar!

It was a cool place with a whole room devoted to Lego representations of popular Texas sites, such as the Texas Stadium...

 ...Southfork Ranch...

 ...the Grapevine train depot...

...Great Wolf Lodge...

...and here's the Magnolia building in downtown Dallas - where Michael and I used to work!

They also had a fun play area where the kids got to build with TEXAS sized Legos!

From there, we started to head toward Mom and Dad's place, but stopped at our dear friends, the Thomsons, for a quick visit.  They have goats and chickens and a new baby kitten, so needless to say, our visit revolved around the animals.  We put Abbey in a separate fenced in area, and it was funny to watch the goats all line up staring at that strange creature!

Tyler and his brother and sisters gave us the grand tour on all things furry and feathered at their farm.

The kids had a blast playing with the chickens!

But the kitten was the biggest hit...

We finally made it to Mom and Dad's and had a lovely Thanksgiving there with our dear family.  Whenever we gather, there is ALWAYS a few rounds of Rummikub going on!

Michael and I brought the guitar and mandolin so we could join Mom on her dulcimer and play a few tunes... we certainly can't make it big yet, but we sure had fun!

Ahhhh, watching the game after dinner.  Now our holiday is complete!
