Happy New Year!! There's no shortage of snow up here at 8,000 feet, so it's high time we take advantage of it! We took a little family outing to a great sledding hill earlier in the week...

Above is Mason on one of our new sleds... we have affectionately named it "Zippy". It's very different from any sled we've ever used, but after you get used to it, it's pretty fun! Below is Morgan on our other new sled. It's basically two skis with a seat and it goes FAST!

Of course, Maddox got in on the action by hitching a ride with anyone who'll take him...

...and finally, he got brave enough to attempt Zippy all by himself!

Great fun was had by all... and no one got hurt, so that's an added bonus. :)

When I was a young girl growing up in VT, we had what we called a Jack Jump. It was 1 ski with a seat. We could really fly on it but it crashed pretty easy. I remember one trip when I made it all the way down the hill and the excitement I felt. I also remember one trip down when I did a complete somersault and landed on my nose. Boy did that hurt! Then to top it off Jack went to the bottom of the hill without me and had to be retrieved. I think I pled injury and made my brother get it. Thank you for bringing back that memory and for sharing you family with me.
